In 2006, BIOLAIT gathers 220 members out of 38 departments
collecting 35 million liters of organic milk in the year.
15 producers are "mutualised".
The administrative seat is in Saffré in the Loire
Atlantique. It includes the direction, the services of
logistics, marketing and administrative management.
10 sites of collection are localised in the various
fields of BIOLAIT activity.
BIOLAIT delivers about thirty different dairies about
the whole country . Today over 150 products and brands
of organic dairy products are manufactured with milk from
BIOLAIT. The company employs 33 worker including 17 drivers.
SOLIDARITY IN ACTING: The principle of
mutualisation
The principle of mutualisation has
been set up almost the creation of BIOLAIT. At the beginning,
the idea was to allow stockbreeders who wished to adhere
but were not yet on a collecting zone, to benifit from
the organic milf price of BIOLAIT .
In 2002, when milk collecting was stopped
on some areas, BIOLAIT members concerned with this measure
were offered the possibility of being mutualised.
Today, some producers settled near BIOLAIT
collecting areas have been mutualised again, particularly
in order to encourage their organic project.
